Copper prices rose by Rs 1.65 to Rs 432.05 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August rose by Rs 1.65, or 0.38% to Rs 432.05 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.33% to Rs 419.80 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.
Market analysts said a firming trend in copper at the London Metal Exchange (LME) mainly led to the rise in the metal prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, copper jumped 1.1% to $9,444.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
