Buoyed by a rebound in base metals in global markets and a pick-up in demand in the domestic spot market, copper futures prices rose by over 1% to Rs 387.65 per kg today.
The trading sentiment turned better after copper and other industrial metals staged a comeback at the London Metal Exchange, market men said.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November copper rose by Rs 3.90, or 1.02%, to Rs 387.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 8,147 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month by Rs 3.55, or 0.91%, to Rs 393.15 per kg, with a trading volume of 990 lots.
Globally, copper for three-month delivery was up by 1.4% to $7,410 per tonne at the LME in early trade today.
