Copper inches up on increased demand

Copper prices gained by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on good demand from consuming industries amid firming trend at the London Metal Exchange. 

Marketmen said rising demand from consuming industries amid firming trend at the London Metal Exchange pushed up copper prices.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three-months added $145, or 2.2 per cent to $6,760 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed strengthened further by Rs 2 each to Rs 367, Rs 386 and Rs 345 per kg, respectively.
