Copper and lead prices fell upto Rs 5 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today in tandem with a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange.
Trading sentiment turned bearish after copper dropped from the highest level in more than 10 weeks in London, declining for the first day in seven sessions, as gains were seen overdone amid lingering concern that the global economic recovery may slow.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell 1.1 per cent to $7,070 and lead by 0.5 per cent to $2,005 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 5 each to Rs 366, Rs 385 and Rs 344, while lead ingot and imported fell by a rupee each at Rs 115.50 and Rs 118.50 per kg.
