In range-bound movements, copper futures traded a shade higher today largely in line with a better trend in the global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, February copper rose by Rs 1.15, or 0.20% to Rs 446.30 per kg in a turnover of 1,854 lots.

The April delivery up by 25 paise, or 0.01% to Rs 450.75 per kg in a turnover of 92 lots.

Analysts attributed rise in copper prices at futures trade to a firming global trend and pick up in domestic demand.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months traded a shade higher at $8,103.50 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
