Copper and nickel strengthened by Rs 3 per kg each in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market today largely on the back of pick-up in industrial demand amid a firming trend at the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar, copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 3 each to Rs 514, Rs 537 and Rs 497 per kg, respectively.
Market analysts said besides increased demand from consuming industries, gains at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also supported the rise in select base metals here.
Nickel plate 4x4 traded Rs 3 higher at Rs 1,063-1,065 per kg on increased demand from alloy-makers and higher trend at the LME.
