Copper rebounds on higher industrial offtake

Copper prices recovered smartly at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to heavy demand from stockists and industrial users despite weak trend in London Metal Exchange (LME).

Brass also moved up slightly on better demand from alloy industries. Meanwhile, nickel and aluminium prices declined owing to subdued offtake from consumer industries.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar spurted by Rs 7 per kg each to Rs 463 and Rs 491 from overnight closing level of Rs 456 and Rs 484.   

Copper armiture and copper utensils scrap both rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 445 and Rs 421 respectively, as compared to Rs 440 and Rs 416.

 

Copper scrap heavy gained by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 454 as against Rs 450 previously. Copper sheet cutting edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 437 and brass utensils scrap also inched up by a rupee per kg to Rs 306.

However, nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,190 and aluminium utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 107.
