Copper recovers on global cues, tin rallies

Copper prices recovered modestly at the non-ferrous metal market here today on fresh demand from stockists as well as good industrial offtake amidst firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, zinc, aluminium and brass eased on lower demand from consumer industries.  

Tin prices spurted by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,455 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,445.  

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 453, Rs 444, Rs 406 and Rs 481 respectively.

Copper armiture and copper sheet cutting both inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 432 and Rs 425. However, zinc and aluminium utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 131 and Rs 102.

Brass sheet cutting also softened by Re 1 per kg to Rs 311.
