Copper remained firm and added another Rs 2 per kg in the local metal market today largely in tune with a firming global trend.
Pick-up in demand from consuming industries also supported the upside in the metal's prices.
Traders said besides a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME), increased buying by stockists also influenced the copper prices.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery rose by 0.4% to $9,687.75 a tonne on the LME.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 504, Rs 527 and Rs 487 per kg, respectively.
