Copper remains up on increased buying

Copper prices rose by another Rs 2 per kg in the non-ferrous metal market today on increased buying by stockists and pick up in demand.

Traders said increased offtake by stockists on the back of rising demand from consuming industries amid firming trend in global markets mainly pushed up copper prices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month gained 0.7 per cent to $7,440 a metric tonne, the highest price since August 9 on the London Metal Exchange. 

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 377, Rs 396 and Rs 357 per kg, respectively.
