Copper remains weak on lower global trend

In limited deals, copper prices shed Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sustained selling by stockists, influenced by a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange.

Marketmen said sustained selling by stockists amid a weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange led to a fall in copper prices.

Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery traded down 0.1 per cent at $6,440 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

Copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap remained weak and prices slipped further Rs 2 each to Rs 356, Rs 375 and Rs 335 per kg, respectively.
