Copper futures for February traded higher by 30 paise, or 0.07%, at Rs 436.90 per kg in 5,005 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract rose 20 paise, or 0.05% to Rs 442.05 per kg in 486 lots.
Pick-up in domestic demand supported the trade.
Data from China added to signs that a rebound is gaining momentum and Japan raising its economic outlook, boosting demand for industrial metals globally.
On the London Metal Exchange, three months' contract gained 0.5% to trade at $8,070 a tonne.
