Copper rises 0.7% on global cues

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions

Copper futures for April rose by Rs 4.80, or 0.68% to Rs 415.60 per kg in 33,832 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract moved up by Rs 2.45, or 0.59% to Rs 421.25 per kg in 1594 lots.

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions.

Firming global trend mainly led to rise in copper futures trade here.

On the London Metal Exchange (LME), copper rose 0.6% to $7,572 a tonne.
