Copper rises further on global cues

Copper prices rose further by Rs 5 per kg on the local metal market today, largely backed by a firming global trend.

Analysts said pick up in demand from consuming industries and a firming trend in overseas markets mainly pushed up copper prices. 

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were advanced by Rs 5 each to Rs 511, Rs 534 and Rs 494 per kg, respectively. 

Following were today's quotations in Rs per kg: 

Tin ingot 840, zinc ingot 131.50, nickel plate (4x4) 1,060-1,062, gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228, copper wire scrap 511, copper wire bar 534, copper mixed scrap 494, Utensil scrap 224, Chadripital 175

 

Lead ingot 143, lead imported 146, aluminium ingots 112, sheet cutting 113, aluminium wire scrap 112 and aluminium utensils scrap 109
