Copper rises in futures trade on global cues

Copper futures prices rose by 0.25 per cent to Rs 433.25 per kg today, supported by firming trend in global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, copper delivery for February edged up by Rs 1.10, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 433.25 per kg, with a business turnover of 3,770 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April traded higher by 90 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 436.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 256 lots. 

Market analysts said reports of gains in metal at the London Metal Exchange and Shanghai, influenced copper futures prices here.
