Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking a firm global trend, copper prices traded higher by 0.09% to Rs 452.15 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 452.15 per kg in business turnover of 2,030 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in February edged up by the same margin to Rs 462.85 per kg in 86 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators in tandem with a firm global trend as world's biggest base metals consumer China's trade data beat estimates, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.5% to $7,179.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
