Copper up 0.1% on positive Asian cues

Metal for delivery in April was up by 0.02%

Tracking positive Asian cues and a pick-up in spot demand, copper futures rose marginally by 0.11% to Rs 413.85 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June rose by 45 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 413.85 per kg, with a turnover of 363 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April was up by ten paise, or 0.02%, at Rs 411.10 per kg, with a trade volume of 2,385 lots.

In Asian trade, copper futures for delivery in July added 0.5% to 46,660 yuan ($7,478) a tonne in Shanghai.

Market analysts said besides rising demand in the spot markets, a firming trend in Asian trade led to the rise in copper in futures market.
