Copper up 0.5% on global cues

Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm global trend and rising demand at domestic spot markets.

Copper prices moved up by 0.50% to Rs 413.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues.
    
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in current month June traded Rs 2.05, or 0.50% higher at Rs 413.60 per kg in a turnover of 4,721 lots.
    
Likewise, copper for delivery in far-month August edged up by Rs 2.10, or 0.50%, to Rs 419 per kg in 281 lots.
    
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm global trend and rising demand at domestic spot markets.
      
Meanwhile, copper climbed 1% to $7,190 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
