Copper, zinc decline on reduced industrial demand

Copper and zinc prices declined by up to Rs 2 per kg in the local metal market today due to reduced industrial demand amid a weakening global trend.  

Market analysts said fall in industrial demand amid a weakening global trend mainly led to the decline in copper and zinc prices.   

Meanwhile, copper for the three-month delivery dropped 0.6% to $9,782 and zinc declined by 1.2% to $,460 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 513, Rs 536 and Rs 496 per kg, respectively.

 

Zinc also traded lower by rupee one to Rs 130.50 per kg.
