Copra edible, Rajapur surge on firm demand

Copra edible and copra Rajapur prices strengthened further in an otherwise steady spices market here today due to strong demand from both domestic as well as export markets amid restricted arrivals.

Copra edible Mumbai jumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,800 from its overnight closing level of Rs 7,600 and copra Rajapur Mumbai firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,800 as against Rs 8,700 previously.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 303-323 (303-323), ginger bleached (per kg) 175 (175), ginger unbleached (per kg) 205 (205), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,800 (6,800), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,700 (6,700), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,800 (8,700) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,800 (7,600).
