Copra Kozhikode prices drifted down further at the spices market here today due to lower offtake from stockists and millers amidst expectations of higher arrivals.

On the other hand, black pepper witnessed a mixed pattern of trading owing to poor buying activity coupled with weak export demand.

Copra office Kozhikode lost another Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,500 from Monday's closing level of Rs 6,600.

However, black pepper was quoted at Rs 280/310 per kilo, compared to Rs 285/305 yesterday.

Meanwhile, all other spices closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support.

Following are today's closing rates in Rs with the previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 280/310 (285/305), ginger bleached (per kg) 165 (165), ginger unbleached (per kg) 195 (195), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,700 (6,700)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,500 (6,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,100 (9,100) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,700 (7,700)
