Copra Rajapur strengthens on renewed demand, tight supply

Copra Rajapur prices strengthened further at the spices market here today on renewed demand from stockists and retailers amid fall in supply from the producing centres. Elsewhere, copra edible Mumbai also firmed up owing to better offtake.

Meanwhile, copra Kozhikode and copra Alapuzha dropped due to lack of retail demand coupled with rising supplies. Copra Rajapur Mumbai rose by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 5,300 from overnight closing level of Rs 5,150.

Copra edible Mumbai gained Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 4,250 as against Rs 4,200 previously. However, copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,550 from Rs 3,600 yesterday, while copra office Alapuzha moved down by Rs 25 per quintal to Rs 3,700.

 

Other spices ruled steady.

Following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black Pepper (per kilo) 168/188 (168/188), ginger bleached (per kilo) 200 (200), ginger unbleached (per kilo) 220 (220), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 3,700 (3,725)

copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 3,550 (3,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 5,300 (5,150) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 4,250 (4,200)
