Copra rallies on heavy demand, low supply

Copra prices rallied at the spices market here today due to buoyant domestic as well as export demand amid lower stocks availability.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode both shot up by Rs 300 per quintal each to Rs 5,700 and Rs 5,500 from Monday's closing level of Rs 5,400 and Rs 5,200, respectively.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai rose by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 9,000 as compared to Rs 8,850 and copra edible Mumbai gained Rs 25 per quintal to Rs 7,325 against Rs 7,300 last weekend.

Meanwhile, black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached maintained a stable trend in the absence of any buying activity.
