The prices of polyester staple fibre (PSF) which was ruling at Rs 5,900 per tonne a fortnight ago is now ruling at around Rs 6,150 per tonne. Industry expects another round of increase by domestic players by middle of November.
Buyers attributed the rise in MMF to the stagnating cotton crop in China which is likely to force number of textile units there to cut production. Shortage of cotton was likely to drive up the demand of PSF in China.
