Cottonseed futures rise on fresh buying support

Cottonseed futures prices advanced by Rs 20 to Rs 1,212 per quintal today, on heavy buying on the back of firm spot market sentiment.

Marketmen said apart from low inventories, restricted supply and pick-up in demand at physical markets, mainly influenced trading sentiments here in futures prices of cottonseed.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, cottonseed price for March contract moved up by Rs 20, or 1.68%, to Rs 1,212 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 5,250 lots.

Prices for December contract went up by Rs 15, or 1.33%, to Rs 1,144 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,530 lots.
