Crude oil futures fell by 0.11% to Rs 6,260 per barrel after speculators reduced exposures amid weak trend in Asian trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in May fell by Rs 7, or 0.11%, to Rs 6,260 per barrel in 879 lots.

Oil for April delivery moved down by Rs six, or 0.10%, to Rs 6,281 per barrel in a turnover of 1,390 lots.

The trading sentiment weakened at futures trade as crude prices were down in subdued post-holidays Asian trade today, but retained support from the escalating Ukraine crisis following a deadly gunfight over the weekend, analysts said.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery dropped 22 cents to $104.08 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
