Crude oil futures fell by 0.32% today to Rs 6,138 per barrel as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in Asian markets.

Similarly, oil for February delivery moved down by Rs 18, or 0.29%, to Rs 6,138 per barrel in 2,062 lots.

The trading sentiment turned weak after crude oil prices declined in thin Asian trade as investors booked profits, marketmen said.

Meanwhile, crude oil for March delivery eased seven cents to $98.16 a barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
