Crude oil prices fell by Rs 18, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 3,575 per barrel in futures trade today after it dipped overseas following an increase in stockpiles.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, crude oil for delivery in September contract fell Rs 18, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 3,575 per barrel, with a turnover of 29 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August eased by Rs 15, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 3,537 per barrel, with a turnover of 153 lots.
Analysts said weak trend in global market following reports of an increase in stockpiles and profit-booking by investors after yesterday's rally, mainly put pressure on the crude futures here.
Meanwhile, in global markets, crude oil for delivery in September, dropped 34 cents to $75.43 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
