Crude oil prices declined by Rs 8 to Rs 4,823 per barrel in futures trade today, tracking a weakening global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 8, or 0.17% to Rs 4,823 per barrel, with business volume of 50 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June lost Rs 5, or 0.14% to Rs 4,878 per barrel, with an open interest of three lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in crude oil futures prices to a weakening global trend.

Meanwhile, New York's main contract, crude for delivery in May dipped 17 cents to $106.95 a barrel.
