Crude oil futures prices declined by Rs 15 to Rs 4,012 per barrel today on profit taking at existing higher levels.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for March contract declined by Rs 15, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 4,012 per barrel, with a business turnover of 31 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contract moved down by Rs 14, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 3,858 per barrel, with a trade volume of 34 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit taking by speculators, fall in demand in the spot market mainly led to the decline in crude oil futures prices.
