Crude oil futures down 0.4% on weak Asian cues

Prices fell as speculators trimmed positions

Crude oil futures for April fell by Rs 17 or 0.36%, to Rs 4,684 per barrel in 8,851 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contracts moved down by Rs 16, or 0.34%, to Rs 4,721 per barrel in 2,455 lots.

Prices fell as speculators trimmed positions.

Trading sentiment remained weak as prices declined in Asian trade on slowing Chinese growth amid concerns over weaker global energy demand.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the May contract shed 14 cents to $86.54 a barrel.
