Crude oil prices declined by Rs 15 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 3,309 per barrel in futures market today, as traders reduced their positions on sluggish demand at spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for June-month contract declined by Rs 15, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 3,309 per barrel, with an open interest of 24,566 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contract lost Rs 12, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 3,396 per barrel, with an open interest of 2,825 lots.
Market experts said fresh selling by traders on fall in demand at spot markets led down the crude oil prices at futures trade.
