Crude oil prices rose by Rs 18 to Rs 3,668 per barrel in futures trade today, as traders enlarged their positions in tandem with firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, crude oil for November-month rose Rs 18, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 3,668 per barrel, with a business turnover of 14 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October-month moved up by Rs 17, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 3,608 per barrel, with a business volume of 180 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators and reports of firming trend in global trend mainly pushed up crude oil prices at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, crude for November delivery climbed 46 cents to $80.43 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
