Crude oil futures prices surged Rs 15 to Rs 4,060 per barrel today, as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, crude oil for April shot up by Rs 15, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 4,060 per barrel, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 13, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 3,993 per barrel in single lot.

Traders said positions increased by speculators on the back of rising demand in spot markets pushed up crude oil futures prices.
