Crude oil futures up 0.3% on overseas cues

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions amid a firm trend in Asia

Crude oil futures for March gained Rs 17, or 0.34%, to Rs 4,957 per barrel in 8,728 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract moved up by a similar margin to trade at Rs 5,009 per barrel in 825 lots.

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions amid a firm trend in Asia.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the April contract advanced by 3 cents to $90.46 per barrel.
