Crude oil futures for May rose by Rs 19, or 0.38% to Rs 4981 per barrel in 12,554 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract traded higher by Rs 18, or 0.36% to Rs 5,015 per barrel in 1020 lots.
Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions.
Firm global trend led to rise in crude oil prices at futures trade here.
New York's main contract, crude for June added 40 cents to $91.83 a barrel.
