Crude oil futures up 0.6% on overseas cues

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions

Crude oil futres for April gained Rs 30, or 0.59%, to Rs 5,124 per barrel in 6,477 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract moved up by Rs 29, or 0.56%, to Rs 5,166 per barrel in 598 lots.

Prices rose as speculators created fresh positions.

Firming trend in Asia ahead of US jobs data supported the crude oil futures globally.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), crude oil for March advanced by 18 cents to $93.44 a barrel.
