Crude oil prices rose by Rs 15 to Rs 3,632 per barrel in futures trading today on fresh buying by speculators amid firming global trend.
Trading sentiment turned better after oil prices rose in Asian trade lifted by a rebound in global equities market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for August contract gained Rs 15, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 3,632 per barrel, with an open interest of 7,610.
The oil for delivery in current-month July also traded higher by Rs 12, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 3,598 per barrel in 29,034 lots.
Marketmen said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firming global trend mainly led to a rise in crude oil prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, New York's main contract crude for delivery in August gained two cents to $77.17 a barrel.
