Crude oil prices rose by Rs 19 to Rs 3,772 per barrel in futures trading today, as speculators enlarged their positions on the back of firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December-contract gained by Rs 19 or 0.51 per cent to Rs 3,772 per barrel, with a business turnover of 72 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January contract traded higher by Rs 18 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 3,821 per barrel in 2 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in line with a firming global trend led to the rise in crude oil prices.
Meanwhile, crude oil for the January contract gained by 55 cents to $82.53 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
