Crude oil prices gained Rs 18 to Rs 4,786 per barrel in futures trade today on fresh buying by speculators supported by a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 18, or 0.38%, to Rs 4,786 per barrel, with a business turnover of 2,805 lots.

The November contract traded higher by Rs 17, or 0.36%, to Rs 4,729 per barrel, with a business turnover of 19,597 lots.

Marketmen said fresh buying by speculators in line with a firm global trend mainly led to a rise in crude oil futures.

Meanwhile, crude for December delivery rose by 14 cents to $86.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
