Crude Oil Output Exceeds Target By 4.2% In November

The crude oil production exceeded the November 2001 target of 2.613 million tonne by 4.2 per cent at 2.724 million tonne.

The cumulative production during April-November 2001 at 21.236 million tonne was, however, 3.2 per cent lower than the target of 21.927 million tonne and 1.9 per cent lower than the production of 21.658 million tonne during the corresponding period last year.

According to the data released by the petroleum ministry today, the overall achievement in crude oil production during the period April-November 2001 as compared to the annual target fixed for 2001-02 was 65.3 per cent.

The refinery production remained five per cent less than the planned target during November 2001, while the cumulative refinery production remained 7.3 per cent lower than the target.

 

However, it was 3.2 per cent higher than the production of 68.161 million tonne during the corresponding period of the previous year. The overall achievement in refinery production during April-November 2001 as compared to the annual target fixed for 2001-02 was 62 per cent.

The natural gas production at 2,484 million cubic metres (mcm) during November 2001 was marginally higher than the production of 2,467 mcm in November 2000 and cumulatively it was 0.6 per cent higher than the production of 19,616 mcm attained during the corresponding period last year.
