Crude oil up 0.5% on firm overseas cues

Crude oil prices for October up by 0.30%

Crude oil futures prices today recovered by 0.56% to Rs 6,678 per barrel as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a mixed trend in the Asian region, as investors await the outcome the US Federal Reserve's policy meeting.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for delivery in September traded Rs 37 or 0.56% higher at Rs 6,678 per barrel, with a business turnover of 1,956 lots.

The crude oil prices for October are also up by Rs 20, or 0.30%, to Rs 6,686 per barrel, with a business volume of 478 lots.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for October delivery gained 18 cents to USD 105.60 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
