Crude oil prices rose by 0.71% to Rs 6,226 per barrel in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a firming trend in the Asian region, mainly on upbeat economic growth data from China.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for delivery in November rose by Rs 44, or 0.71%, to Rs 6,226 per barrel in business turnover of 1,338 lots.
Similarly, oil for delivery in October gained Rs 42, or 0.68%, to Rs 6,185 per barrel in 11,067 lots.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in November, was up 12 cents at USD 100.79 a barrel in mid-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
