Crude oil up by 0.3% on overseas cues

Rise in crude oil futures was attributed to a mixed trend in Asia

Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.31% to Rs 6,474 per barrel today as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a mixed trend in Asia.
 
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in September traded Rs 20, or 0.31%, higher at Rs 6,474 per barrel with a business turnover of 277 lots.
 
The crude oil for August also moved up by Rs 18, or 0.28%, to Rs 6,477 per barrel, with a business volume of 277 lots.
 
Market analysts said the rise in crude oil futures was attributed to a mixed trend in Asia as investors awaited the latest US crude stockpiles data for clues about demand from the world's biggest oil consumer.
 
 
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for delivery in September was up six cents to $105.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in the morning trade.
