Crude palm oil prices firmed up by Rs 1.80 to Rs 512.70 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders expanded their positions, looking to cash in on an expected rise in demand in the spot market for the ongoing marriage season.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 1.80, or 0.35%, to Rs 512.70 per kg in 37 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for November contract delivery edged up by 60 paise, or 0.12%, to Rs 510.30 per 10 kg in five lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by traders on expectations of a rise in demand during the marriage season mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices in futures trade.
