Crude palm oil prices traded marginally lower by Rs 1.60 to Rs 588 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for March contract traded higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 588 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of five lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February contract shed Rs 1.50, or 0.26 per cent to 581.10 per 10 kg, clocked a business volume of a single lot.

Traders said subdued demand against adequate stocks position in the spot market mainly kept pressure on the crude palm oil prices.
