Crude palm oil futures up on better global trend

Crude palm oil prices gained Rs 1.50 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 374 per 10 kg in futures trading today, as traders enlarged their positions on the back of firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for August contract gained Rs 1.50, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 374 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 16 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contract inched up by Rs 0.70, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 376 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 2,200 lots.

Market analysts said increased buying by traders and reports of firming trend in overseas market helped crude palm oil prices to trade higher at futures trade.

 

Meanwhile, the August delivery contract climbed 0.5 per cent to $746 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
