Crude palm oil futures up on higher demand

Supported by a pick-up in demand in the spot market, crude palm oil prices rose by Rs 3 to Rs 538.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January crude palm oil rose by Rs 3, or 0.56%, to Rs 538.50 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 286 lots.

The December contract edged up by Rs 1.50, or 0.47%, to Rs 535 per 10 kg in 21 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up  by speculators, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market in view of marriage season mainly influenced crude palm oil futures prices.
