Crude palm oil prices lost Rs 4 to Rs 546 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders reduced positions on the back of weak global cues.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 4, or 0.73%, to Rs 546 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 868 lots.

The August contract shed Rs 3.80, or 0.69%, to Rs 549 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 334 lots.

Marketmen said traders reduced their positions amid a weak trend in overseas markets, which kept pressure on crude palm oil futures.

Meanwhile, palm oil lost 1.8% to $903 a tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange, the lowest since October 18.
