Crude palm oil prices moved up by Rs 2.40 to Rs 579.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by a rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 2.40, or 0.42%, to Rs 579.40 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 27 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July traded marginally up by Rs 1.60, or 0.28%, to Rs 574.80 per 10 kg, with an open interest of a single lot.

Market analysts said increased buying by speculators following a rising demand in the market mainly influenced crude palm oil prices at futures trade here.
